This Privacy Policy explains how Scalar Technologies s.r.o. ("Scalar", "Rightnow", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Rightnow mobile application, website, and related services (the "Service").

Rightnow is a social network for discovering events and connecting with friends. Certain event information, rankings, recommendations, summaries, and briefings may be generated, processed, ranked, or enhanced using automated systems and artificial intelligence technologies.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

3. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• the Rightnow mobile application,
• the Rightnow website,
• user accounts,
• event discovery and recommendation features,
• messaging and social features,
• related services operated by Scalar Technologies s.r.o.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, event organizers, ticketing providers, or external services linked from Rightnow.

4. Data We Collect

4.1 Guest Users

Users may browse events without creating an account.

For guest users we may collect:

• client identifier generated by the application,
• device language,
• push notification token (if notifications are enabled),
• selected city or location,
• application analytics and usage information.

4.2 Registered Users

When creating and using an account, we may collect:

• phone number,
• display name,
• username,
• profile identifier,
• client identifier,
• social connections,
• liked events,
• messaging data,
• device language,
• push notification token,
• selected city or location.

4.3 Contact Discovery

If you grant access to your contacts through your device operating system, Rightnow may upload phone numbers from your contact list for friend discovery purposes.

We do not upload or store contact names.

Uploaded phone numbers are transformed into hashed representations and stored for matching purposes. Contact discovery data is refreshed periodically and replaced with the latest uploaded contact set.

Hashed phone numbers that do not match an existing Rightnow user are used only for matching and are discarded or overwritten through this periodic refresh.

This processing occurs only after you grant permission through your device settings, and we rely on your consent as the legal basis for it.

4.4 Location Information

If you grant location access, we may process:

• selected city,
• approximate location,
• precise geographic coordinates.

Location data may be used for:

• event ranking,
• distance calculations,
• local event discovery,
• personalization,
• recommendations,
• improving relevance of event listings.

We store only the most recently selected city or location associated with your account.

Location information remains associated with your account until changed or deleted together with the account.

4.5 Messaging Data

Rightnow provides one-to-one messaging functionality between users.

Messages are transmitted using encrypted network connections and stored in encrypted form on our systems to provide messaging functionality.

Authorized personnel may access message content when reasonably necessary to operate the Service, investigate abuse, comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or address security and technical incidents.

Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.

Messages may be deleted when users remove social connections or when accounts are deleted.

4.6 Usage Analytics and Telemetry

We collect usage information to improve the Service, understand product performance, develop recommendation systems, and evaluate personalization features.

Examples include:

• event views,
• event identifiers,
• timestamps,
• likes,
• shares,
• source link clicks,
• selected categories,
• selected filters,
• interaction patterns within the Service.

5. How We Use Personal Data

We process personal data to:

• provide and operate the Service,

• authenticate users,
• enable messaging functionality,

7. Event Information, Recommendations and Artificial Intelligence

Rightnow automatically collects event information from publicly available internet sources.

Event discovery, rankings, recommendations, summaries, descriptions, and daily briefings may be generated, processed, ranked, or enhanced using automated systems and artificial intelligence technologies.

Events displayed within the Service are collected from publicly available sources indexed by third-party search and discovery systems that operate independently from Rightnow.

Where available, source attribution and links to original sources are displayed.

Rightnow is not an organizer, promoter, sponsor, ticket seller, or operator of the events displayed within the Service.

Event information may be:

• incomplete,
• inaccurate,
• outdated,
• unavailable,
• incorrectly categorized,
• modified by organizers after publication,
• omitted entirely from the Service.

We do not guarantee the completeness, correctness, availability, reliability, or accuracy of event information.

Users should independently verify important information, including dates, times, locations, prices, ticket availability, age restrictions, and event status directly with the relevant organizer before attending any event.

8. Push Notifications

Rightnow may send notifications related to:

• event reminders,
• social activity,
• friend registrations,
• messaging activity,
• recommendations,
• product and service updates.

Users may manage notification permissions through their device operating system settings.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Website

The Rightnow website uses cookies and similar technologies, including:

• strictly necessary cookies required for the website to function,
• analytics cookies (Google Analytics) used to understand website usage.

Non-essential cookies, including analytics cookies, are set only where required consent has been obtained. You can give, manage, or withdraw your consent through the cookie controls provided on the website and through your browser settings.

Mobile Application

The Rightnow mobile application does not use browser cookies. It relies on application identifiers and analytics and error-monitoring software development kits (including Mixpanel and Sentry) to measure performance and usage and to detect crashes and errors, as described in this Policy. You can limit certain device-level identifiers through your operating system settings.

10. Sharing of Personal Data

We do not sell personal data.

Information Visible to Other Users

Rightnow is a social network, so certain information is shared with other users as part of how the Service works:

• your display name, username, and profile information are visible to other users;
• your phone number is used to connect you with people you know and may be visible to users you are connected with as friends;
• when you and another person each have the other's phone number saved in your contacts, you may be suggested to each other as friends;
• your liked events and similar activity may be shared with your friends through social features;
• messages you send are visible to their recipient.

You control much of this through the friend connections you choose to make.

11. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers are located in, or process personal data in, countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States.

Service providers that may process personal data outside the EEA include Cloudflare, Twilio, Mixpanel, Sentry, Google, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Hetzner, our primary hosting provider, processes data within the European Union.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under the GDPR, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the certification of recipients under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

12. Data Retention

Unless a longer retention period is required by law, we generally retain data as follows:

Some information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days following deletion before being permanently removed through normal backup rotation.

Registered users may delete their account through the application.

Upon deletion, account data is removed from active systems, subject to technical limitations, legal obligations, and backup retention periods.

Under the GDPR, and subject to applicable conditions and exemptions, you have the right to:

• request data portability, including an export of your data,
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent,
• lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

15. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse, or alteration.

No system can guarantee absolute security, and users should take appropriate precautions to protect their own devices and accounts.

16. Children

The Service is intended for individuals aged 16 years or older.

If we become aware that an account belongs to a person under 16 years of age, we may suspend or remove the account and associated data.
